The Georgia Bulldogs have a challenging 2024 schedule with 10 power conference opponents. The Bulldogs face a trio of road opponents with hopes of making the College Football Playoff: Ole Miss, Alabama and Texas.
Georgia has a larger margin of error in the 12-team playoff era, so the Bulldogs can afford to lose a game or two during the regular season. However, Georgia has to win the SEC championship to secure one of the four byes in the playoff.
Georgia returns seven All-SEC players from last season, which is the most in the conference. Georgia quarterback Carson Beck looked in command of the Bulldog offense throughout spring practice. The Bulldogs are ready to make a run at another national championship, but face a daunting schedule.
Let’s take a look at Georgia’s 2024 regular-season schedule with win total over/unders. Projected win totals are a good way to gauge how strong each of Georgia’s 12 regular-season opponents will be this fall.
Week 1 vs. Clemson Tigers (Atlanta, Georgia)
The Greenville News
Clemson’s projected win total: 8.5 wins
What Clemson’s win total says about the Tigers: Clemson has not looked sharp, especially offensively, during the past couple of seasons. The Tigers are no longer one of the nation’s first teams mentioned in the annual national championship conversation.
Week 2 vs. Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports
There’s no current projected win total for Tennessee Tech. Georgia losing to a Football Championship Subdivision opponent would be beyond shocking. That’s not going to happen anytime soon.
Week 3 at Kentucky Wildcats

Kentucky’s projected win total: 6.5 wins
What Kentucky’s win total says about the Wildcats: Kentucky has moderate expectations with former Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff taking over the Wildcats‘ offense. The Wildcats are a physical team that is capable of keeping it close with Georgia.
Week 4: Bye week
Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports
Georgia’s first bye week comes ahead of the Alabama game. Georgia gets a chance to heal after the Kentucky game as the Bulldogs get into the meat of their SEC schedule.
Week 5 at Alabama Crimson Tide
Tuscaloosa News
Alabama’s projected win total: 9.5 wins
What Alabama’s win total says about the Crimson Tide: Alabama does not have the same high expectations entering the post-Nick Saban era. Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe pairs with first-year head coach Kalen DeBeor, and the Tide are more than capable of making a playoff run. The sportsbooks and bettors are the lowest they’ve been on the Crimson Tide in recent memory.
Week 6 vs. Auburn Tigers
Brett Rojo-USA TODAY Sports
Auburn’s projected win total: 7.5 wins
What Auburn’s win total says about the Tigers: Auburn has slightly elevated preseason expectations in 2024. Auburn quarterback Payton Thorne is going to have to improve as a passer for the Tigers to hit the over or to get over the hump against Georgia after giving the Bulldogs a scare in 2024. Auburn is glad to get out of the SEC West.
Week 7 vs. Mississippi State
Justin Ford/Getty Images
Mississippi State’s projected win total: 4.5 wins
What Mississippi States’s win total says about the Bulldogs: Mississippi State has the second-lowest projected win total in the SEC. The Bulldogs have very low expectations entering the 2024 college football season and probably don’t have what it takes to compete with Georgia.
Week 8 at Texas Longhorns
Austin American-Statesman
Texas’ projected win total: 10.5 wins
What Texas’ win total says about the Longhorns: Texas is fired up about its chances at winning the SEC championship. The Georgia-Texas game could easily decide the SEC championship race. Quarterback Quinn Ewers and Alabama transfer Isaiah Bond should be a potent combination for the Longhorns.
Week 9: Bye week
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports
Georgia rests in its usual bye week ahead of the Florida game.
Week 10 vs. Florida Gators (Jacksonville, Florida)
Kim Klement Neitzel-USA TODAY Sports
Florida’s projected win total: 5.5 wins
What Florida’s win total says about the Gators: This Florida team has low expectations and an extremely challenging schedule with 11 power conference opponents. Florida coach Billy Napier may not survive another blowout in Jacksonville if the Gators are on pace to win five or six games.
Week 11 at Ole Miss Rebels
Todd Kirkland/Getty Images
Ole Miss’ projected win total: 9.5 wins
What Ole Miss’ win total says about the Rebels: If the Rebels win 10 games, Ole Miss will likely make the playoff. Quarterback Jaxson Dart and the Rebels will be looking for revenge against Georgia after the Dawgs embarrassed Mississippi in Athens a year ago.
Week 12 vs. Tennessee
Jeremy Reper-USA TODAY Sports
Tennessee’s projected win total: 9.5 wins
What Tennessee’s win total says about the Volunteers: Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava and the Volunteers are dangerous sleepers in the SEC. The Volunteers could make the playoff with a 10-win season.
Week 13 vs. UMass
Nathan Ray Seebeck-USA TODAY Sports
There’s no current projected win total for UMass. Georgia is not losing to UMass, and the Dawgs get a week to work on themselves ahead of their season finale and postseason.
Week 14 vs. Georgia Tech
Dale Zanine-USA TODAY Sports
Georgia Tech’s projected win total: 5.5 wins
What Georgia Tech’s win total says about the Yellow Jackets: Bowl eligibility is still expected to be a challenge for head coach Brent Key and Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have improved, but aren’t contenders to win the ACC quite yet. Georgia would love to force Georgia Tech to hit the under and miss a bowl game!
